My Name is Emily…
I’m 24-years-old and I majored in journalism at the University of Cincinnati, although when people ask me what I went to school for, I often respond “volleyball” because that’s what it felt like at the time! I received a full scholarship to play for the Bearcats and loved every minute of it. While playing, I studied and then received my degree, knowing all along I wanted to become a writer.
About a year and a half after I graduated I got pregnant with my son, whom I named Eric William, Will for short, to differentiate him from his father (how confusing would it be to have two Eric’s running around!). Will became the center of my world, and I left my job at the time to stay at home with Will. I was incredibly blessed to find a job with a company that posts television show recaps, so I could still have some sort of income.
I’ve known for years that I wanted to start my own blog, and once I became a mother I just knew it was finally time to do so. I’m a health fanatic, I love to workout, read, watch TV, attempt various Pinterest projects, and, of course, have a blast every single day with my son. Given all that, I knew that I would have a lot to share with the world, so why not do it online?
This blog is called Living with Will Power because over the years I’ve had to develop a sense of will power for everything from healthy habits to controlling my emotions during hard times. Life isn’t easy, but it’s sure as heck a lot of fun. Every day is an adventure as I teach my son Will, the advantages of having a little will power. I hope you enjoy reading about all of things we get into it and the lessons learned along the way.
